Startup India - Entrepreneurship Support Program

Regulatory simplifications include online company registration, reduced compliance burden, exemption from certain labor law provisions, and self-certification in environmental and industrial matters. The Startup India Fund provides venture capital and growth financing through government-backed funds. Digital platforms facilitate investor-startup networking and knowledge sharing. Incubation centers supported by the government provide mentorship, workspace, and infrastructure to early-stage startups. A critical pitfall: startups must maintain compliance with all tax and regulatory requirements to retain startup status; failure to comply or exceeding revenue thresholds results in loss of tax benefits and increased audit risks. Additionally, initial funding is limited; many startups struggle to scale beyond the first few years.
