Take something down

Bataoo indexes the public Indian web. If you're the rights holder for content that appears in our results and you'd like it removed, write to us. We respond within 48 hours with an acknowledgement, and resolve in line with the Indian IT Rules 2021.

Please include: the URL of the result on Bataoo, the URL of the original content, your relationship to the content (rights holder, subject, etc.), and the specific claim (copyright, defamation, privacy, other). We may ask for proof of rights for copyright claims.

What we will and won't index

Bataoo follows a strict crawl policy:

  • · We honor robots.txt on every host. If your site disallows crawling, we do not index it.
  • · We show snippets of at most 280 characters and link out — we do not republish full articles.
  • · We do not bypass paywalls, login walls, or geographic restrictions.
  • · We attribute content under CC-BY-SA where applicable (Wikipedia, Stack Exchange).
